There’s enemies to lovers…
and then there’s the kind that completely consume you.

The tension is unbearable, the chemistry is ridiculous, and before you know it, you’re fully invested, emotionally compromised, and wondering why you do this to yourself every single time.

So if you’re in the mood for chaos, longing, and that “they absolutely should not be together… but they need to be” energy — here are my top 5 ‘recent’ enemies to lovers that will ruin you.

🍿

1. Love Me Love Me (Prime Video)

If you love tension that simmers under the surface before it finally explodes, this one gets it right.

There’s something about the dynamic here that feels unpredictable — like you’re constantly waiting for the moment everything tips over. And when it does? It’s messy in the best way.

Bonus – a sequel has been confirmed and is in the works!

2. Maxton Hall (Prime Video)

This is elite enemies to lovers.

The class divide, the secrets, the constant push and pull — it’s the kind of slow burn that keeps tightening until you can’t look away. And the chemistry? It does a lot of the heavy lifting without needing to say much at all.

If you haven’t watched this yet, fix that.

Bonus – 2 season are already available to watch on Prime Video and Season 3 is expected to release 2026!

3. Through My Window Trilogy (Netflix)

This one leans fully into obsession, tension, and intensity.

Raquel and Ares are not your soft, easy kind of love story — and that’s exactly why it works for this trope. It’s dramatic, addictive, and very much a “just one more film” situation.

Bonus – each of these films based on the novels by Ariana Godoy are so so good! It’s one I wish I could rewatch for the very first time!

4. Lick (Passionflix)

If you’re here for that instant conflict mixed with emotional vulnerability, this delivers.

It throws you straight into the chaos and lets the relationship unravel from there. There’s friction, there’s heat, and underneath it all… there’s something softer trying to break through.

5. Beautiful Disaster (Prime Video)

This one is messy, toxic, and completely addictive — exactly what you expect from enemies to lovers at its most chaotic.

Travis and Abby are constantly clashing, constantly circling each other, and somehow you’re still rooting for them even when you probably shouldn’t be.

And I’m just going to say it — watch the first film and leave it there.
The second one? It doesn’t hit the same, and it’ll take away from what actually works here.

🔥 Bonus Pick (Because I’m Still Not Over It)

Jane & Guildford — My Lady Jane

I had to include a fantasy pick, and this one?
It’s genuinely not to be missed.

Jane and Guildford start off with that perfect enemies-to-lovers tension — forced together, clashing, completely mismatched on the surface… and yet you can feel something building underneath it all.

It’s witty, chaotic, emotional, and somehow still manages to hit you when you least expect it.

And yes, I’m still in shock that My Lady Jane didn’t get renewed.

There are so many of us still not over it.

Bring back My Lady Jane. Seriously.

🍿

💭 Why This Trope Still Has Us Hooked

Enemies to lovers isn’t just about hate turning into love.

It’s about tension you can feel.
It’s about watching two people fight it… until they can’t anymore.
And it’s that moment — when everything shifts — that makes it worth it every time.

Honestly I don’t even care what the title is – if you tell me it’s an enemies to lovers series or film – I’m watching it; and I bet you are too!
